Probably the best class I’ve taken at JTS. He has a lot of anecdotes about JTS history having been here for over 50 years, and the course material is some very cool aggadot (all in language but translated in class). He will cold call on everyone to read and translate (and this is part of your grade) so if your Hebrew and Aramaic language skills aren’t up to the task you’ll need to spend more time preparing the text in advance. Also a handful of full books he expects you to at least skim. Highly recommend.
